While I am at work....

the mice will play (or the dogs will nap). I discovered these pictures that I didn't take on my camera. And quickly figured out that this is what goes on while I am at work. My dogs lay around on the furniture and my kids help themselves to my camera and the photoshoot begins. Mind you,I had no idea this photshoot had taken place, until I went to upload pictures from another event and discovered about 75 pictures of the dogs napping. I guess the dogs were willing subjects, as long as it didn't interfere with their nap.

Welcome Summer!

Summer time is here!! (Ok officially Summer doesn't start for a couple of weeks, but school is out and the pool is open). We spent some time outside the last couple of weekends. Lots of outdoor chores to be done. I think the dogs enjoy having company out there. On the weekend when we spend most of the day outside, they sure do sleep well. So just a couple of random shots of the dogs enjoying the summer weather.

Long time no post!

As usual life has been crazy. Lots to do and so little time to do it. We are really enjoying and sometimes very challenged by our new addition. But we couldn't have chosen a better personality fit for our existing pack.

It has been crazy enough that I haven't even taken alot of new pics of the dogs, so I will share with you one of my favorites of Sophie...I was baiting her with cheese, but look at those eyes. How can you resist her powers?

Black and White and Red all over!!!

Ok, well, I did it. I messed up the entire theme of this blog. No longer do I fall into the category of having dogs that are only black or white.

Welcome to our life on January 1, 2009, Murray the red Boston Terrier. He is a rescue dog. We believe he was a breeder at a puppy mill. He must not have been a good producer because he is estimated to be about 1 1/2 yrs old.

He has a wonderful personality and has fit just magically into our family.
Sophie- wasn't so sure about him at first because after all she was supposed to be the cute small dog in the family. But she has learned to love him, most of the time. On occasion I am just sure she is giving us dirty looks.

Bradley thinks the new play mate is cool. Bradley is doing a great job as big brother and teaching him the ropes. Bradley also likes have a new playmate. So much so, that Bradley has even started playing with toys to intrigue the other dogs.

Murray has few issues and really just wants to be loved by humans and dogs alike.

Happy (belated) Holidays!

In typical fashion--the holiday came rushing at me and I was my typical frantic mess getting everything done at the last minute--but it all got done. We had a wonderful holiday--the kids got lots of cool stuff- the dogs got new toys and treats. The dogs even participated in a dog gift exchange and got some cool presents from California.

This is the Christmas card the dogs sent out (with my help of course) We did a Christmas Card exchange and received nearly 50 (yes 50) dog cards---it is quite the display. We'll sign up again next year because it is so much fun.

Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

Trick or Treat!!!

It's Halloween time...fall...October. Ok, so around here it doesn't feel like fall- except in the mornings. But I am not complaining. No- not one bit. The weather has been beautiful.

It is time to think about getting out the jackets and sweaters.

But not Sophie- she is thinking about treats, she is wishing there were alot more in her Halloween basket. Maybe if she dresses up for Halloween she will get more, but until then she will have to just scour the bottom of her basket wishing for more.

A meeting of the minds...er..I mean Boston Terriers

Sophie got to go to a meetup of Boston Terriers this weekend. There were about 10 of them in attendance. It was really fun to see 10 streaks of black and white running around. There were several times a small pack of them would break off and run the fence next to the large dog side of the park and they were giving those big dogs more trouble than they wanted!

But not Sophie.

Those Boston Terriers are too wild for her and they scared her! They would come at her and she would put her ears back, cower and roll over. Sophie was much more interested in the humans. At one point Sophie had wondered off to the fence line because there was a toddler boy with his mother and Sophie stood up on the fence and talked to them.

It was all I could do to keep her next to me. The humans were sitting in a circle and I finally got Sophie to lay next to me or behind me or on me. She was funny because a couple of the dogs would come over to me and she would just lean into me as if she were asking me to save her. It was really funny because one of the dogs could care less about Sophie, he was just begging me to throw the ball.

Silly Sophie, I guess the little dogs scare her- but she is not afraid of her big dog brother!
